Sydney is getting ready for Tassie wine, food and fun

Sydney-siders can look forward to experiencing the best of Tasmania at this year’s VIN Diemen festival, which will arrive in the heart of the city on Saturday 10 August at Cell Block Theatre, Darlinghurst.

VIN Diemen has thrilled wine lovers from around Melbourne and Sydney for the past four years, showcasing the unparalleled quality of Tasmania’s produce. This year features an extended line-up of the island’s leading vintners and producers.

Guests will be given an opportunity to explore Tasmania’s culinary delights without leaving the harbour city.

Throughout the day, guests can make their way through each region of Tasmania, enjoying an array of flavours from sparkling and riesling to chardonnay and pinot noir. Wine from every corner of the island will make an appearance including Tamar Ridge, Moore’s Hill Estate, Bream Creek Vineyard and Sharmans Wines.

Bream Creek Vineyard General Manager, Rafe Nottage said, “We are extremely pleased to be taking part again in both VIN Diemen Sydney and Melbourne events. It is a fantastic one-off opportunity to experience the very best of Tasmanian wine and food and sample what our beautiful island state has to offer!”

Guests will be given the rare opportunity to meet the wonderful makers and growers of the wine they’re sampling; they will even be able to taste back vintages brought from their personal cellars.

To accompany the local wine, food will also be available featuring Tasmania’s outstanding produce. Vineyard Seafood Restaurant will be showcasing its signature dishes.

Wine Tasmania Chief Executive Officer, Sheralee Davies said, “Living in Tasmania, we are very lucky to have access to a great array of amazing wine and food. VIN Diemen provides an opportunity for us to share a taste of the island with lovers of all things Tasmanian in Sydney and Melbourne!”

Early bird tickets are $55.00 and general admission are $65.00, limited VIP tickets are also available for guests which include an exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ experience. Each ticket includes a wine glass to taste and take home, all wine tasting, and food samples from producers.
